Tomsk Oblast is the 4th Russian region with the most favorable conditions for innovative development (rating by Expert RA Rating Agency).

Tomsk Oblast has a well-established innovation infrastructure for the commercialization of research from the idea (http://tomsk.gov.ru/ru/science_education/infrastructure/) to an innovative enterprise.

Currently, the innovative sector includes over 400 companies. The output of high technology products grows 40% annually.

The biggest and most rapidly developing innovative firms are EleSy (www.elesy.ru), Stack (www.stack.ru), Siam (www.siamoil.ru), Elecard (www.elecard.com), Micran (www.micran.ru ), Electropulse (www.electropulse.ru), SibMASH (www.nposibmach.ru), Manel (www.manel.ru), Tomanalyt (www.tomanalyt.ru), etc.

The most well-developed R&D areas in Tomsk Oblast are electronics, biotechnology, ICT, new materials, and nanotechnology.
