XIV Tomsk Innovation Forum to be held May 25-27, 2011

First Deputy Governor of Tomsk Region Oksana Kozlovskaya told about plans for the XIV Tomsk Innovation Forum INNOVUS at the organizational committee meeting.

In 2011 the Forum will be held on May 25–27. The subject will be «Innovative Russia — 2020: How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy?»

The Forum will be opened on May 25 with a project seminar for Russian and European Community industrialists under the chairmanship of Rusnano CEO Anatoly Chubais and Siemens President and CEO Peter Loescher.
During the first two days of the Forum the core issue «How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy?» will be the focus of discussions at discussion clubs and round tables attended by politicians, heads of ministries, governors of the leading innovative regions, representatives of large businesses, state corporations, development universities and institutes, developers of technological platforms and foreign experts.

The subject of the first discussion club will be the core issue at the Forum «How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy?»

The second discussion club will focus on the subject «Technological Platform: a Breakthrough or a Dream?» Its participants will identify issues of cooperation between the business, scientific organizations, universities, and the governments in the process of identifying priority areas to secure innovative leadership of Russia, as well as mechanisms, tools, and resources to bring about such leadership. Another key item on the agenda is innovative management issues in big corporations, and options for big corporations to take part in the implementation of technological platforms.

The third discussion club will be about reforming general education.

On the second day of the Forum, at the round tables will be discussed issues of interregional cooperation in the area of innovations, research teams joining international research networks and programs, the city’s role in creating conditions to launch the innovative economy, formation of clusters in the nuclear industry, and environmental standards as a drive for the innovative economy. The second day of the Forum will also be the day of the meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.

The youth program of the Forum includes discussions between representatives of professional associations and successful professionals on the latest trends in IT-industry, design, journalism, and robotics.
