Insurance Companies

The market of insurance services in Tomsk Oblast is represented by 3 regional and over 40 insurance companies from other regions.

The insurance premium proceeds in 2006 increased by over 25% and payments – by almost 30% as compared with 2005.

Over the last several years the insurance activity in Tomsk Oblast and in Russia on the whole has been dynamically developing due to the economic growth and, subsequently, increasing incomes, which implies a considerable growth of population’s and organizations’ expenditures, including for insurance.

The development of the market entailed the decrease in insurance tariffs, improved efficiency and quality of insurance services, higher insurance awareness of the population, more diverse insurance programs.

There has been an important trend recently – growing number of tenders for selection of insurance companies, which enables the organizers to be more objective while choosing an insurance company for protection of their valuable interests; and also allows to overcome previously existing attachment to industries.

Nowadays, insurance companies offer the whole range of insurance services including insurance for investment risks.

Insurance as the way to manage risks is particularly important for Tomsk Oblast as its economy poses great hazards of risk for almost any type of activity compared with the world’s standards. The region has a great potential for growth of insurance sector and this potential can be effectively used to solve economic and social problems.
