10.11.2011

On the national scale it is the 18th. The top three are Krasnodar Territory, Tyumen Region, and Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The rating was developed as part of the report on the current status of the economies, banking and financial sectors and public spheres of the Russian regions in January-September 2011 issued by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation.

According to the report, Tomsk Region is among 22 regions where the investment attractiveness index is "significantly higher than Russian average." In 57 regions the situation is "worse than Russian average."

In his comments on the rating Tomsk Region Governor Viktor Kress emphasized that the Tomsk Region Administration has an effective system to work with investors.

"The Region Administration regularly holds sessions of the Investment Council where under my guidance we discuss progress in investment projects and necessary assistance from the Region government," said Viktor Kress.
