Tomsk took part in the III Siberia-Taiwan Innovation Forum

An agreement for cooperation in education, research and innovation was signed between the Tomsk Region Administration, OAO Tomsk Special Economic Zone of Technical Innovation Type, Tomsk Association of Research and Educational Institutions "Cross Sectoral Center for Research and Education", Taichung City Government, Central Taiwan Science Park, and Feng Chia University.

The document was signed at the III Siberia-Taiwan Innovation Forum held in Taiwan in late October. This agreement is a successor of the previous agreement expired in 2010 which has been a foundation for mutual cooperation over the latest years.

The Tomsk Region delegation visited three leading science parks in Taiwan where it presented the advanced prototypes by Tomsk researchers and mass produced sci-tech products of Tomsk innovative companies in areas such as LED lighting, microwave electronics, new materials and technologies, and semiconductor technologies and equipment.

Representatives of Tomsk universities met with their counterparts from the top Taiwan universities, discussed potential cooperation in research and education, and agreed to carry out joint research and jointly develop applications to international contests annually held by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the National Science Council of Taiwan. Tomsk innovative companies met with their existing partners and those interested in Tomsk inventions.
