Tomsk innovators got 12 gold and 4 silver medals at Hi-Tech 2012 Exhibition

The 18th International Exhibition-Congress "High Technologies. Innovations. Investments" (Hi-Tech 2012) took place in St. Petersburg. Tomsk Region was represented by an exposition of 24 organizations and two university expositions – Tomsk State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University.

The innovations presented at the exhibition proved the high research and development potential of Tomsk Region and its attractiveness for investors. Tomsk Region companies presented their products to a wide audience of potential customers, partners, and investors and established new business contacts.

Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of St. Petersburg, showed interest in medical equipment for drug administration in critically ill patients which was developed by Tomsk R&D engineers. "When all the required certificates and licenses for this equipment are obtained, we will consider buying it for our city hospitals. Besides, it is much cheaper compared to similar imported equipment," Grigory Poltavchenko said.

The exhibition program included the Best Innovative Project and Best Invention of the Year contest with 217 projects and inventions submitted by 125 organizations from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Tomsk organizations won 16 medals – 12 gold and 4 silver – and were awarded more than 20 certificates.
