Experts from Oxford to hold business modeling workshops in Tomsk

On May 22-24, a team of experts from ISIS Innovation and Eurasia Consortium, Oxford, will work in Tomsk

as part of the second stage of the joint project of the Tomsk Region Administration, Rusnano, and British companies for the promotion of innovative products from Tomsk to foreign markets. In December 2011, projects to be developed in cooperation with the experts from Oxford were selected. The list of projects embraces IT, nano- and biotechnology, petrochemistry, and geophysics. At the first stage workshops were held in April for the managers of the selected projects on the basis of the Saпd Business School of the University of Oxford. The presenters included experts in license and patent agreements, market positioning, strategic innovations, distribution, and team building. They shared their experience in creating and running startups in Oxford.

In May, British experts will meet with all project teams and hold two business modeling workshops. The first workshop "Entrepreneurship: Building a Thriving High Tech Business" will take place in the Druzhba business incubator, TUSUR, on May 22 (1 – 4 pm) for start up managers who face difficulties in writing a business plan.

The second workshop "Attracting Investment with Business Plan" will be held in the Tomsk Special Economic Zone on May 23 (10 am – 1 pm) for representatives of more mature companies who seek to improve their business model. Fiona Reid, founder and Executive Director of the Oxford Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and expert in high technology business models will lead the workshops.
