Tomsk Region foreign trade turnover grew 7.2% vs 2011

The foreign trade turnover of Tomsk Region in January-September 2012 grew 7.2% vs the same period in 2011 and totaled 616.3 million US dollars due to the growth of exports by 8.9%, Tomsk Customs Office reports.

The foreign trade turnover over the nine months of 2012 totaled 616.3 million US dollars, which is 41.2 million US dollars (7.2%) more than in the same period in 2011. The growth in the turnover is mainly related to an increase in exports by 43.6 million US dollars (8.9%).

The growing exports of Tomsk Region over the nine months of 2012 included inorganic chemistry products, food, metals and metal goods, machinery, equipment and vehicles. In January-September 2012 exports accounted for 86% (532 million US dollars) of the total foreign trade turnover.

Foreign trade was maintained with 64 countries, including the USA, China, Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Germany, Afghanistan, the Netherlands and Denmark.
