The Tomsk plant to launch manufacture of advanced automated gas distribution stations in complete sets

Tomsk electromechanical plant which was commissioned by LLC “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk”, started working out the issue related to creation of advanced automated gas distribution stations in complete sets.

According to the press service of the LLC “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk”, currently technical design specification is in the process of proofreading and coordinating with the workers of the plant. After approval it will be submitted to the plant for creation of the pilot prototype of the automated gas distribution station, which would be then brought into trial operation. This automated gas distribution station is to become the most advanced and innovative, embracing all professional wishes of gas workers.

“In 2013 “Tomsk electromechanical plant” successfully tested and certified in JSC “Gazprom” innovative cycloidal drive for gas workers’ stop-regulating fitting with no maintenance required for many years. Now the workers of the plant have taken up a more major challenge” – Alexey Maslov, the Head of the operating and technical department of “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk” explained.

Before starting to design the station, excursions to the gas distribution station in Yurginsk branch were organized, as well as to automated gas distribution station “Moryakovsky zaton” and automated gas distribution station in Kargala. These visits allowed the engineers to analyze the experience gained in operating the existing gas distribution stations, understand the requirements of the operating personnel and consider suggestions made by people regarding improvement of design and reliability, convenience of installation and maintenance of linear part of the main gas pipeline facilities.

For instance, automatic control devices and telemechanics must provide for temporary operation and performance of functions including the accident ones, without a permanent presence of an operator.

Nowadays JSC “Gazprom” runs 3912 gas distribution stations (the company “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk” — 133) which get older and require good quality maintenance to be provided in time, as well as general overhaul and modernization. The number of old gas distribution stations is a significant portion of total number of stations. In the autumn and winter months these gas distribution stations operate on the maximum capacity, which significantly increases the risk of equipment failure and emergency situations occurrence.

“Taking up such a major challenge as organizing own production of advanced and competitive gas distribution stations in complete sets – is a great responsibility. We are aware of the company’s good reputation and high-level professional engineers, we believe that the workers of the plant will succeed in achieving this target. Our company will be one of the main consumers of such gas distribution stations in the Siberian region, and of course it will be convenient for us to have a manufacturer, so to speak, in close proximity”, - Mikhail  Pashinsky, the head of the gas distribution station service of the Tomsk Line Pipe Operation Center said.

 “The road map” for interaction between JSC “Gazprom” and the Tomsk Region Administration regarding development of mutually beneficial relationships was signed in January 2014. The company “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk” became a coordinator of the cooperation between Gazprom, the Tomsk Region Administration and the Tomsk science-based enterprises.
