Four Tomsk universities among the hundred best Russian universitie

Four Tomsk universities — National research Tomsk state university and Tomsk polytechnic university, Tomsk state university of control systems and radioelectronics and  Siberian state medical university — joined the ranks of a  100 best Russian universities, prepared by Expert rating agency.  

The 7th place of a 100 best Russian universities belongs to National research Tomsk polytechnic university. Only the strongest Moscow and Saint Petersburg universities take higher positions: Moscow state university, Moscow institute of physics and technology state university, Bauman Moscow state technical university, Saint Petersburg state university, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and Higher school of economics. The first ten also included Novosibirsk state university, Saint Petersburg polytechnic university and National Research University Moscow Power Engineering Institute. Compared to last year’s rating Tomsk polytechnic university has gone up one step.

National research Tomsk state university takes 14th place, also one position up compared to last year. Along with the National research Tomsk state university the second top ten includes MGIMO, Financial university under the government of the Russian Federation, Russian presidential academy of national economy and public administration , three federal universities (Ural, Siberian and Volga), Gubkin Russian state university of oil and gas, National University of Science and Technology and Novosibirsk state technical university.

The 29th position in the rating belongs to Tomsk state university of control systems and radioelectronics. Compared to last year TUSUR has gone up 8 positions. Siberian state medical university has gone up 12 positions, taking the 35th place among 100 best Russian universities.

Tomsk universities were also leaders according to the following criteria: conditions for quality education, research activity level, relevance among employers.

The rating authors used 50 different criteria, including polling data of 4 thousand respondents — employers, representatives of academic and scientific communities, students and graduates.
