Oil and gas companies to increase investments in the Tomsk region by a third in 2015

The expected assimilation of capital expenses 2014 will amount to RUB 34.985 billion. For the first nine months of this year, the companies have assimilated RUB 24.184 billion. The bulk has been invested in fixed assets of OJSC Tomskneft Eastern Company, JSC Tomskgazprom and LLC Gazpromneft-Vostok.

In 2015, Tomskgazprom is investing RUB 15.75 billion (24% more than the target for 2014); OJSC Tomskneft, RUB 10.56 billion (30% increase); LLC Gazpromneft-Vostok, 9.7 (46% increase.) In particular, the companies are going to increase production drilling up to 816 thousand long meters, which is 14% more than expected performance in 2014. At that, the production drilling in the Tomsk region has been 554.62 thousand long meters as of October 1. It is also planned to increase the commissioned wells to 270 compared to the planned 233 in 2014 (15% increase.) At that, the region has commissioned 173 wells as of October 1, 2014.

Igor Goncharov, Head of the regional Department for Subsoil Use and Oil and Gas Industry Development, says: "The implementation of activities under the companies' programs is not enough to compensate for the natural decline in the fields because of water cut and depletion. However, the companies' plans to enlarge the geological prospecting and exploration and regional resource base of hydrocarbons suggest a possibility to maintain a current field production and growth prospects in the future."
