The Governor of Tomsk region and the Head of Russian Venture Company signed a cooperation agreement

On February 25 Sergey Zhvachkin, the Governor of Tomsk region and Igor Agamirzyan, Director General of Russian Venture Company signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed in Engineering building of Tomsk Special Economic Zone at the opening of a Russian Startup Tour.
As Sergey Zhvachkin noted it is for a reason that Tomsk has become a capital of the Russian Startup Tour, as there operates the first research and innovation Special Economic Zone, two Tomsk Universities are ranked as National Research Universities and included in the Top 15 national institutions of higher education, moreover high-tech business is developing quite successfully.
"We are not willing to repose on our laurels, our goal is to upgrade the innovation system of the region, improve work environment for entrepreneurs and their support. An agreement with the Russian Venture Company (RVC) will contribute to this, stressed Sergey Zhvachkin. – Our short-term goal is to build a system for young scientists support, for promotion and commercialization of their projects. Even if supported by the RVC we believe to make our own regional venture foundation that will help high-tech businesses at the beginning".
Within this agreement RVC is planning to implement their own programs for development of venture investment in the region and help Tomsk innovators make new contacts with venture market and experts. The parties also agreed to develop industrial clusters, build a technology transfer pattern, and focus on management of the universities in terms of strategic planning. The road map for execution of the agreement will be presented at U-NOVUS, a young scientists forum in Tomsk on April 2-4 this year.
A unique environment has shaped in Tomsk, which is a community of talented and interested people who are driving in the right direction. "This drive is supported both by the authorities and professional community", - says Igor Agamirzyan, the Head of JSC RVC. – "We have a long relationship with Tomsk business community and this agreement will help ramp up this work".
