Agricultural Government Support System is aimed to stimulate effective economy in the Tomsk Region

The Expert Council on Agro-Industrial Policy and Natural Resource Management examined the project of governmental program Agricultural and Regulating Marketing Development in Tomsk Region.

In 2015 it is planned to allocate 1.534 billion rubles on this program from the region budget. 1.2 billion rubles to be spent on agriculture support, 136.3 million rubles to be spent on implementation of the Tomsk Region Rural Areas Sustainable Development Subprogram.

According to Elena Lammert, the Chairman of a Committee at the Region Department of Social and Economic Development of Rural Areas, about 60% of agricultural support government funds are aimed at technical and technological modernization of farms — machinery purchase, equipping of grain drying plants and vegetable stores, commercial dairy farms construction and modernization.

A dairy cattle breeding is still a priority in animal husbandry: milk sold subsidies will be 2-9 rubles depending on an area the enterprise is located in. In order to encourage farmers, high productivity and production output growth multiplying ratio will be introduced.

To support crop husbandry in 2015, The Region Treasury planned to allocate 143.2 million rubles; 45.3 million rubles to be spent on farms subsidies, upon that, when calculating subsidies, the remoteness and crop area use ratio will emerge.

Beginning farmers, family farms and private farms support programs continue to have effect. After their introduction in 2012, region farming cattle stock increased by 19%.

"We still focus on the support of productive owners," Deputy Governor for Agro-industrial Policy and Natural Resource Management Andrey Knorr highlighted. "For us it is crucial to improve products quality and establish good manufacturing practice. The fact that agricultural support tools in Tomsk Region compare favorably with ones operating in neighboring regions is proved with interest the investors show towards Tomsk agro-industrial complex.
