Besides this, drug manufacturing also increases (analgesic, anti-febrile, anti-inflammatory, blood substitute and other drugs). High growth rate of 63% in the January-September of 2014 was shown by rubber and plastic production due to start-up of a BOPP film production line at the Tomskneftehim site in November, 2013.

At the end of nine months, 5.2% growth was also noted in the Tomsk Region energy sector. Total index of industrial production for the first nine months of 2014 made 98.2% in Tomsk Region.

"Growth of power and manufacturing industry could not make a difference for the total index due to decrease of mineral production by 4.6%, since its share in the composition of commodities, jobs and services is still high enough and amounts to 49%", Andrey Antonov, Tomsk Region Deputy Governor for Economy, commented on the results of nine months.

He also noted that in the Tomsk Region economy the share of manufacturing industry tends to increase and by the end of the year the Industrial Production Index in processing sector is expected to rise by 1.1%. In 2015 the Industrial Production Index is expected to increase by 1.3%.
