The Tomsk region shall become a site for laboratory and analytical equipment manufacturing

Agreement "On partnership in high-priority research and engineering areas aimed at innovative development of Russia via providing comfort conditions for localization of the companies operating in the sphere of pharmaceutical equipment in the territory of Special Economic Zone "Tomsk" was signed by Acting General Director of JSC “Special Economic Zone of Technical and Innovative Type “Tomsk”  Konstantin Kaminsky and the first vice president of state concern Farmkontrakt Aleksey Chekalov.   

According to Aleksey Chekalov, at the moment Farmkontrakt group of companies is negotiating with foreign partners in order to relocate part of complex analytical laboratory equipment to the site of Special Economic Zone "Tomsk". Among favorable conditions which are mentioned by the management while making this decision, — tax benefits, customs area and possibility of conducting foreign trade. 

Vice president emphasized the openness of the Tomsk region and Special Economic Zone "Tomsk" for cooperation. "If we are talking about the import substitution of process equipment it is absolutely new project for Russia, — said Aleksey Chekalov. — I'm sure it will be relevant for CIS and the Eurasian union countries".   

In the opinion of Acting General Director of JSC “Special Economic Zone of Technical and Innovative Type “Tomsk”  Konstantin Kaminsky principle decision on location of manufacturing in the region was made by the company's management after visiting the Tomsk region in August 2014. "The leading chemicopharmaceutical holding of Russia appreciated scientific potential and workforce capacity of the region — Research and Development Establishment for Pharmacology, Siberian State Medical University and other Tomsk higher education institutions, offering students' industry-specific training".
