On February 8, a working meeting was held in St. Petersburg between Governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom. Tomsk Region Governor and the head of the largest energy company discussed the course and prospects of cooperation.
In particular, the meeting dealt with the gasification of the region. In 2019, Gazprom allocated 1.08 billion rubles for these purposes (in 2018, investments amounted to 0.9 billion rubles). Gazprom is a strategic partner of the Tomsk Region, said Governor Sergey Zhvachkin. - Behind this partnership are real, visible changes that improve the life of the region and its inhabitants. These are thousands of gasified houses, thousands of highly paid jobs, these are contracts with our universities for training and innovative developments and, of course, lucrative orders for our factories that have proven: Tomsk products successfully compete with imported ones and meet the highest standards of Gazprom.
Alexey Miller and Sergey Zhvachkin also discussed the continuation of Gazprom’s participation in socially significant projects in the Tomsk region.
“We agreed on the continuation of a number of social projects, the main of which is “Tomsk Embankments", which transforms the city center, at the same time carefully preserving the unique face of Tomsk,” said Sergey Zhvachkin.
There are a number of agreements between Tomsk Region and Gazprom, including a roadmap for expanding the use of Tomsk products and technologies for Gazprom’s needs (signed in 2013, updated in 2017); gas supply and gasification development program (signed in 2013).
