Anatoly Seryshev expressed his gratitude to the Russian Government for its systematic attention to the issues of social and economic development in Siberia. “The development strategy of the Siberian Federal District and its implementation plan have combined the district’s resource and intellectual potential to build a competitive economy and improve the quality of life for its population,” he said. Seryshev added that the development of the Siberian economy is based on a cluster approach, meaning that all eight clusters require constant attention and support.
Anatoly Seryshev emphasised the importance of ensuring the reliable operation of the energy sector and addressing the risks of energy shortages faced by Siberian regions as one of the key areas that will determine the district’s future development. In addition, he emphasised that the Siberian Federal District holds a special place in global logistics, making it essential to ensure the comprehensive development of the transport and logistics complex. This development should lay the infrastructural foundation for the Russian economy, enabling the creation of new logistics chains and enhanced integration with friendly countries.
“The development of Siberia has always relied on science, and therefore the advancement of scientific research requires substantive attention and interdepartmental cooperation involving the Russian Academy of Sciences,” said Anatoly Seryshev. In this regard, the potential of the State Council working group on Technological Leadership will be a priority.
During the meeting, the implementation of the Strategy for the Socio‑Economic Development of Siberia until 2035 was discussed, with particular attention given to the extraction of rare earth and precious metals within the district. Dmitry Patrushev noted that the development of deep processing of rare earth metals is being considered through the creation of a dedicated cluster in the Siberian Federal District.
