Twelve investment projects were presented to participants at a meeting of the Council for the Improvement of the Investment Climate and the Regional Investment Standard working group, chaired by Governor Vladimir Mazur.
Currently, more than 190 investment projects with a total investment volume of around 550 billion roubles are being implemented in the Tomsk Region. The growth rate of investment in fixed assets in the region has exceeded the national average.
Governor Vladimir Mazur noted that most of the projects presented involve new, modern plants producing high-tech products, many of which are unique within the country.
The Tesart company plans to build a modern research and production complex of 3,500 square metres in the Tomsk SEZ. It will manufacture equipment for telecommunication systems and satellite communication devices, including shielded and anechoic chambers.
Novokhim presented four investment projects in chemical production: the manufacture of unique chemical reagents, medical biopolymers and specialised adhesives. The company is prepared to be the first in Russia to produce ASA glue at its Tomsk site, a product essential for cardboard production and other pulp-and-paper industry requirements. To date, such glue has not been produced in the country.
Several high-tech companies that already manufacture products in the Tomsk Region intend to expand and establish new plants and production lines.
RT-Technologies, which produces materials with unique properties – including heat- and electrically conductive sealants, electrically conductive silicone gaskets and shielding paints – used in aircraft manufacturing, defence and other industries, will invest its own funds to expand its production area to 800 square metres.
The Biotok medical electronics laboratory, which has extensive experience in producing consumables and equipment for cardiovascular surgery, plans to build a plant for these products on a 1,600-square-metre site, establishing a complete production line funded by its own investment.
Vatercom, a manufacturer of water purification filters, has begun construction of a plant on a 7,000-square-metre plot in the Tomsk SEZ to produce its products.
The Sava Tomsk production company is preparing to build a modern refrigerated complex for receiving, processing and storing berries, which will help maximise crop preservation and increase exports.
Other well-known companies in the region also presented large-scale investment projects at the council meeting.
The construction of a new production facility for Tomsk Beer will enable the company to increase its product output, which is in high demand both in Russia and abroad.
When discussing TDSK’s investment project for the construction of the Yuzhnye Vorota-2 (South Gate-2) residential area, with an investment volume of approximately 100 billion roubles, council participants paid particular attention to ensuring a comfortable living environment and all necessary infrastructure. The project includes schools, clinics, kindergartens and shops within walking distance, as well as access to both private and public transportation.
