As part of the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vladimir Mazur, Governor of the Tomsk Region, Ilya Kavelashvili, General Director of the Additive Technologies business track of Rosatom, and Alexander Rau, Director of FabMetall, signed a tripartite agreement. The agreement is to establish a joint venture for the production of electron-beam equipment (3D printers) in the Tomsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The new enterprise will focus on the development, production and sale of electron-beam equipment, as well as the manufacture of components for the aviation, space, nuclear and instrument-making industries. The project aims to address scientific, engineering, technological and production challenges in the field of electron-beam equipment.
By 2029, it is planned to construct approximately 7,000 square metres of administrative and production facilities within the Tomsk SEZ to support the enterprise’s operations, creating around 100 new jobs.
The new production facility will contribute to strengthening Russia’s technological sovereignty in electronics, medicine, materials science and other sectors. The project will also help reduce dependence on imported supplies while cutting production time and costs.
