Governor Vladimir Mazur took part in a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of the industrial cluster for electronics and unmanned technologies in the Tomsk Region, convened by Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade. The meeting was also attended by Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The decision to establish the industrial cluster for electronics and unmanned technologies in the Tomsk Region was made in March this year, during a visit to Tomsk by Anton Alikhanov and Andrey Yatskin. The cluster’s objectives include the development and scaling of innovative technologies, as well as the creation of an effective training and retraining system for personnel.
The final product of the new cluster will be unmanned tractors, which will be used in agriculture, public utilities and at airports. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering agricultural holdings, natural monopolies and transport companies as potential participants in the cluster.
The list of cluster participants includes 17 industrial enterprises, such as Micran, Research Institute of Semiconductor Devices (NIIPP), Sibkabel, Cognitive Pilot and the Research and Production Centre for Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The cluster will also involve Tomsk universities, including TUSUR (Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics), TSU (Tomsk State University) and TPU (Tomsk Polytechnic University).
The initiative represents a qualitatively new model of industrial cooperation in the field of electronics and unmanned technologies.
The creation of the industrial cluster will ensure the sustainable development of high-tech enterprises in the Tomsk Region, generating high-value jobs and attracting young specialists to the innovation sector.
