XIV Tomsk Innovation Forum, May 26-27, 2011 “Innovative Russia – 2020: How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy?”

The program of the Forum is based on the Strategy for the Innovative Development of the Russian Federation for 2020 that identifies practical steps needed to launch an innovative economy in Russia.
Organizers

The Forum is held under the aegis of the Executive Office of the Russian President, Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Tomsk Region Administration, and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
INNOVUS acts as an annual nation-wide communication site for discussion of the Strategy for the Innovative Development of the Russian Federation for 2020.
The core issue at the Forum — practical steps towards the innovative economy — will be the focus of discussions attended by politicians, heads of ministries, governors of the leading innovative regions, representatives of large businesses, state corporations, development universities and institutes, developers of technological platforms and foreign experts.
The Forum will be accompanied by such prominent events as the TEDx conference and the Start-Up Challenge investment session. New technologies created by innovative companies will be demonstrated at an exhibit of innovations.
Participants

The XIV Tomsk Innovation Forum INNOVUS will be attended by influential politicians, members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, representatives of Russian and foreign R&D corporations, state corporations and innovative companies, world-famous scientists and researchers, representatives of national research universities, Skolkovo foundation, and development institutes.

The list of participants includes Jerome S. Engel — founder and Faculty Director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, UC Berkeley who will be the keynote speaker at discussion club No. 1 «How to Launch the Knowledge-Based Economy in Russia?» that will take place on May 26.

The youth-oriented program at the Forum will include a visual narration workshop and a lecture on art education and innovations in education in Russia. Thomas Werner, a famous American photographer, Professor at the School of Art, Media and Technology, Parsons The New School for Design, photo- and videoprojects mentor (New York, USA), will attend the round table workshop «University Science: Accessing Global Research Networks» on May 27.
