RBK daily complied a rating of innovation-targeted activity in Russia

RBK daily started monthly publications of the innovation-targeted activity rating of Russian regions. Tomsk Region topped the rating as the most active in innovations. Moscow and Novosibirsk Regions follow.

Tomsk Region is running INO Tomsk 2010 project which includes creation of a center for education, research, and development. Experts believe that this project is an obvious rival to the presidential Skolkovo. Another reason for Tomsk Region leadership is a joint project of Nokia Siemens Networks, Rusnano, and Tomsk SEZ resident Micran to set up a 4G LTE systems manufacturing facility in Tomsk SEZ. Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics set up two new research institutes, Tomsk Region Governor Viktor Kress became the leader of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, and Tomsk Polytechnic University won a government grant. Besides, Tomsk has plans to promote its innovations in global markets under the label «Made in Tomsk.»
