Tomsk Polytechnic University to work with France’s AREVA

French manufacturer of atomic reactors and renewable energy producer, AREVA visited the Tomsk Polytechnic University. The foreign delegation included Patrick Weber, head of AREVA's non-destructive division and Friedrich Mohr, head of intelligeNDT, German non-destructive testing subdivision of AREVA Group, the university's press service reports.
They were invited to the TPU by Professor Michael Kröning, head of the TPU's Open Laboratory for Quantitative Non-Destructive Structure Analysis.
The meeting included a general presentation of the university and presentations of the university's relevant subdivisions.
Preliminary agreements were reached for cooperation in thermography and ultrasonic examinations, study of metal-hydrogen systems, and nuclear medicine.
Friedrich Mohr delivered a lecture "NDE Solutions for the World-Wide Nuclear Fleet & Industrial Market" for the students of the TPU's Institute of Physics and Technology and Institute of Non-Destructive Testing. He described AREVA's innovative solutions for non-destructive testing of nuclear power plants, railway transport systems, and other industrial facilities.
