Tomsk University awarded at ITEX’12 in Malaysia

The 23rd International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition ITEX'12 took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Tomsk State University took part in the exhibition as part of the exposition of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Over 800 projects from 13 countries were presented at the exhibition. The international jury awarded the Tomsk State University two gold and one bronze medals.

A gold medal and the Taiwan Invention Association award were granted to the project "Method for producing nanostructured thin-layer coatings on the basis of silicon dioxide sol-gel method in the presence of inorganic acids and their salts". Another gold medal was awarded to the inventors of a "Method of transferring water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) from the vegetative to the reproductive phase". A bronze medal went to the inventors of a "Technology for producing nano-sized extract of biologically active substances from organic raw materials".

The International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition ITEX'12 is an authoritative international innovation and invention expo event in Southeast Asia aimed to commercialize inventions and innovations organized with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors' Associations.
