Tomsk Region Governor to take part in the annual investment conference

10.10.2012

On October 10, the Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin will take part in the 12th annual investment conference "Shaping Russia's Business Climate" initiated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia.

Participants include USA's biggest companies working in Russia such as Coca-Cola, DOW, Medtronic, Du Pont and Microsoft, Russian Ministries, large companies and banks. Governors of four regions of Russia were invited to the conference, among them Sergey Zhvachkin.

The subjects to be discussed at the conference were selected based on the Global Innovation Index criteria which evaluate the country's potential for sustained growth based on innovation technologies in all economy sectors. Over the past few years Russia's indicators have been low and the Russian government made it their priority to improve Russia's performance. Key political leaders and international business leaders will formulate and define the path forward to achieve that goal and think about how to implement those ambitious initiatives.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia is an independent non-government business association with corporate membership. AmCham Russia is affiliated with the US Chamber of Commerce and accredited by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The AmCham's key mission is to create conditions for a dialogue between the business and the government. Each year it organizes dozens of conferences, roundtables, trade missions and presentations where representatives of Russian business and government can share their cooperation views in person. For Tomsk Region, the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia can become an important channel to reach foreign investors in specific areas of interest.
