In Tomsk Region a Proportion of Small Business Working in Manufacturing is the Highest in Siberian Federal District

In Tomsk region, the proportion of small and medium business working in manufacturing is 17 %, that’s the most higher characteristic in Siberian Federal District.

According to vice-governor of Tomsk region for economic Andrey Antonov, more than half of all organizations are entities of small and medium business, where working fifth part of economic active population of the region.

Continuous statistical monitoring of the activities of small and medium-sized firms in 2015, results of which were summed up in 2017, showed that in five years period the number of enterprises increased by 22% (18,194). In terms of per thousand people - from 14 to 17 organizations. This is the second place in the Siberian Federal District after the Novosibirsk region and above the Russian average (15.3).

Turnover of small and medium-sized firms almost doubled and amounted to 337.6 billion rubles. Since 2011, the region has created about a thousand new subjects of youth entrepreneurship.  Also, the number of small exporting enterprises increased in 2.5 times to 224.
