Tomsk Region foreign trade turnover in 2010 totaled almost a billion US dollars

In 2010, export share in the total foreign trade volume of Tomsk Region was 85% and import 15%. The region has remained export-oriented. Foreign trade was maintained with 75 countries, according to Tomsk Customs Office.
The leading export commodity is chemical products — 85.5%. Other export items include timber and wood products — 11.3%; machinery, equipment, and vehicles — 2.5%; food and agricultural stock — 1%; metals and metal goods — 0.2%; textiles, textile goods, and footwear — 0.4%; other — 0.1%.
As for imports, top imported commodity is also chemical products — 58.4%. Other import items include machinery, equipment, and vehicles — 32.1%; food and agricultural stock — 4.0%; metals and metal goods — 3.1%; textiles, textile goods, and footwear — 0.4%; other — 2%.
According to Tomsk Customs Office, in 2010 Tomsk Region increased its export of pine nuts to China, reaching a total of 3.8m US dollars in sales.
In 2010, Tomsk Customs Office delivered to the Region budget 1.160bn rubles. According to Tomsk Customs Office, 314 entities were involved in foreign trade with the region. It is 19 entities less than in 2009. However, 120 new prospects came to trade in 2010.
