Two Tomsk projects won the first round of the competition to create the Skolkovo School

The projects by Tomsk Eureka School and the Tomsk Career Planning Center passed to the second round of the competition to create the Skolkovo School. The best concept will be used in the Skolkovo School project. Other 10 winner concepts will be implemented in Russian regions.

There were 202 applications from 47 Russian regions and five foreign countries. The winners of the first round are 11 applications from Moscow, a number of international applications (the UK, Belarus, Latvia and the USA), and 19 applications from Russian regions, including two projects from Tomsk.

The Eureka School is the only secondary school in Tomsk school which provides a possibility to study under various educational systems. It is the first innovative school in Tomsk and one of the first schools in Russia created as part of a know-how school movement and then the Eureka educational network. The Eureka School submitted to the competition their project "Educational environment for the innovative community of children and adults." The concept of the project is to make the school an educational environment for the innovative (developing) community of children and adults. The innovative results of the model include "family involvement in the education process" and fostering a subjective attitude in children and adults towards the educational, professional, and community activities. The know-how of the concept is creation of basic conditions for involvement of all ages and professional and social statuses into a meaningful, efficient, and effective educational activity in an excessive environment created within the educational system on the basis of the scientific and cultural resources of the region.

The Tomsk Career Planning Center has unique experience in career guidance, psycho-pedagogical follow-up of pre-occupational training and professional education, and implementation of individual educational programs. The concept of the project submitted to the competition by the creative team of the Center is an innovative model of a school of the future based on the strategic priorities of the regional project INOTomsk 2020. The concept enables Tomsk Region to achieve a breakthrough in the development of a continuous multilevel educational model in the region. This project will create all necessary conditions to build a game-changing continuous education system "school – university – innovation economy" and secure an innovation breakthrough of Siberia.

After the second round the best concept (or a group of concepts) will be implemented in the Skolkovo School project. Other 10 winner concepts will be implemented in Russian regions. The Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the Skolkovo Foundation will provide organizational support in identifying the location (the region, municipal district, city district) where the winner concept will be implemented. The Skolkovo Foundation and Microsoft will provide organizational and financial support in developing the winner concepts into full-fledged projects and implementing these projects.
