Laboratory building of Engineering Center under construction on the Southern Site of Tomsk SEZ

According to the executives of the Tomsk SEZ, the building will be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2011. The cost of the project is almost 70m rubles.

«As for the road infrastructure, the contractors have already started laying asphalt on roads and access ways on the Southern Site," says Tomsk SEZ General Director Alexey Baryshev. «Completion is scheduled for mid-October. At the same time the city is building Koltsevaya Street road, which will make all facilities of the Sourthern Site accessible for vehicles in 2012.»

Meanwhile, construction of the Center for Research and Innovations on the SEZ Southern Site is in full swing. Currently, erection contractors are installing cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures of floors 3 and 4, and exterior utilities such as water supply, drainage, and sewerage. Brick laying of internal walls has started. In September, installation of all cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures (5 floors) will be finished and installation of translucent fencing will start. Commissioning of the center is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. The cost of the project is around 690 million rubles.

The building of the Center for Research and Innovations will have the same architectural concept as the other buildings and structures of the Tomsk SEZ. Total floor area of the 5-floor building with the underground parking will be 15,600 sqm. The Center will provide over 400 jobs for SEZ resident companies running projects in biotechnology and medicine.
