Tomsk Region gasification program will cost 12bn rubles

10.04.2012

The Tomsk Region Administration and OAO Gazprom are discussing a draft Tomsk Region gas supply and gasification program for 2012-2015 with the total amount of investment of 12 bn rubles.

"Gazprom is considering investing over 5bn rubles in this program. The program also implies co-financing by the region in an amount of over 7bn rubles to build gas networks in rural areas, convert boiler houses to gas, and provide gas to businesses," said the Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin.

The Governor says that this co-financing commitment is a significant burden for the budget of the Region. However, he expressed his certainty that it would be possible to build the interaction with Gazprom so that the gasification work is continuous and consistent.

Sergey Zhvachkin deems the gasification of the region a priority task for the government. There is opinion poll data where Tomsk Region citizens place gasification on a top position. He also assured he would personally follow up on the gasification progress.

The joint project of Gazprom and Tomsk Region includes construction of 216 km of gas networks in rural areas which will provide gas to 20,000 consumers in 40 settlements of Tomsk Region.
