Tomsk Region second in energy efficiency rating

Representatives of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District and the Ministry of Energy of Russia, deputy leaders of regions, chief federal inspectors and managers of large energy retailers discussed ways to improve energy efficiency in the regions of Siberia.

The meeting was held by teleconference.

The issues covered at the meeting are under particular control by the Plenipotentiary Envoy. The regions committed to keep focusing on energy efficiency actions.

According to the Department of Economy of the Tomsk Region Administration, the meeting also covered performance on Federal Law No. 261 by the regions of the Siberian Federal District. The document binds certain organizations and institutions to hold a mandatory energy inspection and have an energy performance certificate issued by December 31, 2012. These organizations and institutions include state governing bodies and local governments, energy producers and energy providers. The energy performance certificate issued as a result of the inspection shall provide information on availability of metering devices, energy consumption numbers and energy efficiency indices.

According to the Ministry of Energy, more than 28,000 facilities in the Siberian Federal District shall undergo energy audits by December 31, 2012, out of them 7,000 facilities have already been audited. The leaders for the number of energy inspections in the Siberian Federal District are the Altai Republic and Tomsk Region.

According to the national energy safety and energy efficiency information system, Tomsk Region is the second region in the energy efficiency rating.
