Seven new facilities to appear on the Southern Site of the Tomsk SEZ in 2012

A laboratory building, a R&D center – these are but two facilities to be commissioned on the Southern Site of the Tomsk SEZ in 2012. Seven facilities will be constructed in total (including utility networks and roads).

Construction of a 1,850 sq m laboratory building for the Engineering Center is currently under way. Installation of steel structures and building envelope – sandwich panels – has been complete; outdoor utility lines such as potable water pipeline, fire water pipeline, stormwater sewer, domestic sewer, and power transmission lines have been installed. Currently, finishing work and installation of the HVAC systems are under way. Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2012. The building will house Wireless Technology Center's manufacturing premises for the production of 4G base stations, a joint project by Tomsk Micran and Finnish Nokia Siemens Networks.

Another facility under construction on the Southern Site is the third building for the SEZ's residents – an R&D center. Cast-in-place concrete structures are almost complete. Outdoor utility lines have been installed. The first building block already has the heating system installed. Finishing work has been started. Translucent faзade panels are being mounted. Commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. The 15,000 sq m building will house the laboratories of Tomsk biopharmaceutical companies – SEZ's residents – and projects implemented on the Medicine of the Future technology platform.

At the same time construction of the customs infrastructure on the Southern Site is progressing. The facilities under construction include three entry checkpoints, a vehicle checkpoint, a customs check cubicle and customs area fencing. Finishing work and installation of process equipment has started at all the four checkpoints. The work is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2012.

Power will be supplied to the Southern Site via a transformer substation and a high voltage line from the Zonalnaya substation to the SEZ substation. The foundations for the substation are almost complete, cast-in-place concrete structures installation work has started. Ground has been cleared for the 110 kV high voltage power line and supports are being installed. Commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2012.

The Northern Site also has facilities currently under construction such as the infrastructure for the residents. It includes an administrative building and a cafeteria building, outdoor water supply piping and sewers, power transmission lines, roads, passages, parkings, and customs facilities. All the work is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012.
