Tomsk Region in the Asian Network of Major Cities

Tomsk Region became the official member of the ANMC21 at the plenary meeting in Singapore. The other participants unanimously welcomed Tomsk Region membership in the organization created by the Government of Tokyo.

Aleksey Stukanov, Head of the International and Regional Relations Department delivered the salutary address on behalf of the Governor of Tomsk Region. He also invited the Governor of Tokyo Shintaro Ishihara and Singapore's Minister of State Tan Chuan-Jin to visit Tomsk Region.

Membership with the Asian Network of Major Cities not only provides the benefits of participation in the club of the Asian cities with the most dynamic economies but also the benefits of sharing experience and implementing projects for the better well-being of citizens.

Background

The Asian Network of Major Cities 21 was created in 2000 on the initiative of the Governor of Tokyo Shintaro Ishihara. Before Tomsk Region joined the organization it included 11 members: Bangkok, Delhi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Hanoi, and Yangon.
