Tomsk Region again among the leaders in the Innovation Rating

Peterburgskaya Politika Foundation, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and RBK daily newspaper presented their fourth Innovation Rating. St. Petersburg took the first place and Tomsk Region the second place.

A number of events in the world of innovations influenced the position of Tomsk Region. First, two projects by the Tomsk State University were awarded gold medals at the International Invention Innovation & Technology Exhibition ITEX'11 in Malaysia. Second, researchers at the Siberian State Medical University developed a technology for the creation of substances for a very precise oncology diagnostics. Third, an intention by the Russian Venture Company and Oxford Russia Business Innovation Trust (ORBIT) to invest 21m rubles in setting up production of noninvasive glucose meters in Tomsk; and a number of other events.
