10.10.2012

Tomlesdrev Group will start construction of its second particle board plant in 2013 to double its current productivity, Chairman of the Board of Directors Anton Nachkebia said to the journalists on Wednesday.

It was reported earlier that Tomlesdrev planned to build its second particle board plant in the north of Tomsk for 4 billion rubles on a 13 ha site leased from the municipal government, by 2015.

As Anton Nachkebia said on Wednesday, 4 billion rubles is the total cost of the project. The plant as such costs 2.5 billion rubles and the remaining 1.5 billion rubles will be spent on equipment and harvesting and reforestation machinery.

"In two or three months we will obtain a construction permit and immediately start construction. I believe, that will be in the first quarter of 2013."

He confirmed the company's plans to start up the new plant by 2015.

"However, that depends on when we get the sites, pass the state expert review and obtain the construction permit. We have already negotiated with banks and are currently waiting for their commercial proposals. We will also invest own capital, about 20% of the total project cost."

The new plant will have the annual capacity of 300,000 cu.m, thus doubling the current capacity of the company's particle board facilities. After the start-up of the new plant the two plants will run in parallel for about three to four years.

Tomsklesdrev is the largest integrated wood processing company in Tomsk Region. Its core activities include wood harvesting, sawing and processing and producing particle boards and laminated chipboards.
