Lower Saxony delegation visited Tomsk SEZ

On October 4, a business delegation from Lower Saxony (Germany) headed by Jörg Bode, Minister for Economics, Labor and Transport of Lower Saxony visited the Tomsk Special Economic Zone of Technical Innovation Type.

The goal of the visit was to enhance and expand economic ties with Tomsk Region within the framework of the current partnership agreement between Tomsk Region and Lower Saxony, and establish contacts with Tomsk enterprises who are considering cooperation with Lower Saxony.

The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Volker Müller, Director of the Institute of North German Economics which unites around 500 enterprises of North Germany by industries and regions and represents their economic and socio-political interests at the regional, federal and pan-European levels. The delegation also included representatives of banks and investment companies of Lower Saxony, small and medium business marketing experts, and business setup consultants.

The German party found a lot of shared points of interest with the residents of the Tomsk SEZ, such as R&D cooperation, young scientists exchange programs, modernization of production equipment, power engineering, innovative mechanical engineering (biotechnologies, instrumentation and surface engineering) and participation of Tomsk companies in Hannover Messe 2013.
