Open days at Tomsk SEZ resident

On October 1-5, SIBUR, Russia's largest gas processing and petrochemical company has Open Days. Everybody is welcome to visit the company's Chemicals Technologies Research Center NIOST.

Guests will learn more about gas processing and petroleum chemistry, see the laboratory equipment in the Experimental Center and take part in a roundtable meeting with the management of NIOST.

The meeting with the company's managers will be held for the students of the Tomsk State and Polytechnic Universities and master's degree students taking SIBUR-sponsored educational programs.

"OOO NIOST sets high standards of innovative business not only in Tomsk Region but in the whole Russia," believes Aleksey Baryshev, CEO of the Tomsk SEZ. "Its well-thought and consistent HR policy attracts the best graduates of Tomsk universities to the field of high-tech petrochemistry."

Speaking about the NIOST's achievements, Roman Ashirov, General Manager of NIOST points out, "We offer a wide selection of products which are either already implemented or expected to be implemented at SIBUR's facilities. They are, for the most part, improved types of materials currently produced at SIBUR's plants. The first steps have been taken and in the nearest future we will not only expand the range of existing products manufactured by the holding and develop new types of products to substitute imports, but also work on becoming exporters of modern technologies ourselves."

NIOST is a subsidiary of SIBUR. It is the company's Chemical Technology Research Center and the first resident of the Tomsk SEZ. NIOST's laboratories have cutting-edge analytical equipment and their workplaces meet the highest international standards. The research and production personnel represent the leading technical and chemical schools of Russia and the CIS. NIOST develops and implements new advanced technical solutions and technologies through R&D projects which involve development of elements for new equipment, new technologies, chemical processes from concept verification to actual production of the pilot batch and implementation. NIOST also coordinates R&D programs in cooperation with the Research and Technologies Center of SIBUR Holding, applied research institutes, RAS research institutes, and Russia's leading universities.
