SIBUR modernizing its production site in Tomsk

SIBUR is starting complex reconstruction of Tomskneftekhim to increase productivity and assortment and improve quality and safety.

The project involves increasing polypropylene productivity from 130,000 to 140,000 tons per year and high-pressure polyethylene productivity from 240,000 to 270,000 tons per year on the basis of the technology provided by Basell Polyolefine GmbH, Germany. The modernization will significantly improve the quality of the existing polyethylene products and add new types of HPPE products to the current range.

The FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) engineering will be done by Tecnimont, member of Maire Tecnimont Group (Italy), global leader in engineering, construction and technology licensing for petrochemical companies.

Plastpolymer, Russia, will provide engineering for the polypropylene plant. The Russian and Italian engineers have already visited the production site and started working on the design materials.
