Chinese company to start up its plant in Asino within a month

China's AVIC Forestry is intending to commence start-up work on its veneer plant in Asino during the month of October.
It was reported earlier that in 2011 the Russian-Chinese company ZAO RosKitInvest started construction of two plants in Tomsk Region – a sawmill and a veneer plant. The same year China's state-owned AVIC Forestry, a subsidiary of AVIC International entered the RosKitInvest project as an investor.
The veneer production equipment is installed and ready for start-up once the plant is connected to power mains.
"The entire line – from chip feeding to veneer boards – has been installed... Our Italian partners are waiting for the plant to be connected to power grids. Once that is done, they are coming to start it up. The start-up will take up to three months. Full-scale production will be started immediately," Leonid Reznikov, Deputy Governor informed the RIA Novosti news agency.
According to the Region Administration, a working group to resolve challenging start-up issues was created which consists of the project investors and representatives of the Region Administration.
Earlier, it was reported that at the end of 2012 the company was planning to start building its own 36 MW power plant for 1.5 billion rubles which would burn gas and forest waste and produce heat and electric energy for the Asino Wood Processing Complex.
ZAO RosKitInvest (joint venture of the Investment Development Board of the city of Yantai and Yantai Forestry Association) plans to build six to eight wood processing plants in the Asino District of Tomsk Region by 2020. The total investment cost of the project is estimated at 17bn rubles. The plants will produce OSB, MDF, particleboards, and plywood. The facilities will start working at full capacity in 2017.
