Geographic information system to be created in Tomsk

July 19 Tomsk region governor Sergey Zhvachkin held a session for the implementation of regional geographic information system.

The program makes online map of any area in Tomsk, showing registered and unaccounted for taxation pieces of land and property. The information from Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography would be available for each of them, along with infrastructure information, city development plan, etc.

According to developers from All-Russia Business Association “Delovaya Rossiya” (Business Russia), the system is in demand by potential investors, citizens and executive authorities for making management decisions. Today such products are used by Moscow and Saint Petersburg authorities. According to developers, in near Moscow area the effect of the system implementation only from land tax amounted to 12 billion rubles for the first six months of 2013.

“Regional geographic information system is one of elements of E-Government of the information society It has to be considered along with other program products, set up stage by stage, so that the system is clear and easy not only for the officials but also for investors, business community and all Tomsk region residents,” says the governor.

The governor ordered to create the working group for the modelling of geographic information system and its compulsory integration with Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography programs.

May 22 as part of XV Tomsk innovation forum INNOVUS the governor Sergey Zhvachkin and Natalya Antipina, head of Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, signed an agreement on the cooperation between the region and the Federal service in the field of information service.
