Toyota vice-president has approved the Lexus center construction in Tomsk

Fumitaka Kawashima, Toyota vice-president, has visited Tomsk and approved the construction of the first regional Lexus center nest to Toyota center, as quoted by Mariya Pecherskaya, marketing and advertising specialist of Elke Auto LLC.

“The main purpose of the visit is the negotiations with Toyota Center Tomsk officials on the construction of Lexus center. Multifucntional Lexus center is planned to be opened in Tomsk next to Toyota Center Tomsk,” said Mariya Pecherskaya.

Fumitaka Kawashima held a work meeting with the employees and mentioned the high quality service in the Tomsk dealership. He examined the probable construction site for the Lexus center and approved the project as reasonable.

“We see the construction of Lexus center as economically efficient not only for our company but also for the Tomsk citizens. This will help create well-paid jobs, as well as brush up the territory for the convenient life.  Toyota and Lexus always pay a lot of attention to the ecology. We deeply appreciate our planet and care for the environment, that’s why we always develop ecological projects,” said Fumitaka Kawashima.

The construction of Lexus center will be carried out by Elke Auto LLC. The investment will amount to 350 million rubles, about 100 jobs will be created with the help of this project. Moreover, Elke Auto LLC will perform reconstruction and improvement of the surrounding area.

August 2011 Tomsk Duma officials declined the withdrawal of part of area down the Yelizarovy street out of nature conservation area, were businessmen proposed to erect Lexus center. The officials decides to leave the area intact. Over 200 Tomsk residents applied to Duma to resist decrease of landscape area and deforestation.  

August 2012 Investment committee of Tomsk mayor’s office supported the Lexus construction project. The Elke Auto representatives said that the project had been changed: the area of the building had been decreased (its width decreased from 40 to 20 m), the project included improvement and further  maintenance of Baltiyskaya park, as well as the construction of pedestrian ways, going from Frunze avenue park and Yelizarovy street and development of the bus stop area beside the Lexus center.  The committee supported the project considering the changes.
