First Restaurant of KFC to Open in Tomsk in Spring of 2014

Ilya Politkovsky, Director for external communications of Yum! Brands Russia Corporation (KFC and Pizza Hut brands) says on Wednesday, that the first KFC fast-food restaurant is to open in Tomsk in spring of 2014.

The restaurant will be placed in the new shopping centre “Izumrudny Gorod” (in the geographical centre of Tomsk).

By the end of 2014 three more KFC restaurants are to open in Tomsk. “Tomsk is a strategically important city for the company. This can be explained by the city’s economic growth rates and its young population… On the whole, we believe that Tomsk market has the potential for 10 restaurants”, Politkovsky notes. Evgeny Parshuto, First Deputy Mayor of Tomsk, confirms the information about the world fast-food network operator’s readiness to enter Tomsk market.

“We had a meeting, and this network is ready to enter Tomsk. In a letter they wrote about their readiness to invest 1 billion of rubles. They have two roads for development – new construction and purchasing estate to build a café”, said Parshuto.
