Tomsk region will get more than 190 million RUB for cluster projects

Tomsk region is among the first five claimants out of 25 regions who, following the results of competition held by RF Ministry of Economic Development, will get subsidies for co-financing the cluster projects. Federal Budget will allocate for the region RUB 197.5 million for development of the territorial cluster "Pharmaceutics, medical equipment and information technologies". 

"It is a big victory for the region", noted Mikhail Sonkin, Deputy Governor on scientific and educational complex and innovation policy. - Accelerated development of the cluster means growth in the number of development, production and sale of innovation products, enhancement of cooperation, expansion of international cooperation, larger taxable earnings and, hence, better living standards of Tomsk people. 

More than 60% of finances involved are intended to be forwarded to procurement of modern equipment and opening new facilities for innovation products production. Moreover, costs on pre-clinical and clinical tests, prototype and industrial design, intellectual property management and engineering will be also co-financed. Probations of specialists, participation of companies in Russian and International fairs and forums is also provided for. 

"Directions and volumes of spending the federal money were set forth in the bid based on the offers of cluster project participants, regional and federal authorities", commented Denis Taranov, Director General of the Cluster Development Center of Tomsk region.
