Tomsk region is the region with favorable conditions for business

Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (Agency for Strategic Initiatives) presented the results of the National rating of the investment climate in the Russian Federation regions on the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2015). Tomsk region was included to the second group - "Regions with the favorable conditions for business".

The rankings take into account effectiveness of regulatory environment and support for small businesses, development of the institutional environment, availability of resources and infrastructure quality. Rating was carried out in 76 regions of the Russian Federation, its values were formed on the basis of a survey 230 thousand entrepreneurs.

Rating is divided into five groups: the first "Regions - leaders" assigned the Republic of Tatarstan, Kaluga, Belgorod, Tambov and Ulyanovsk regions, the second "Regions with the favorable conditions for business" assigned just of the Siberian Federal District Tomsk and Kemerovo regions. Tomsk region ranked 23rd out of 76 regions of the Russian Federation.

The purpose of the national rating of the Agency's for strategic initiatives is to determine the effectiveness of measures taken by all government levels to improve the business climate. Rating is used to identify of best practices in investor relations and to implement them in other Russian Federation regions. Its pilot test took place in 2014 in 22 regions, including Tomsk region. According to the rating in 2014, the Tomsk region also assigned to the second group of Russian Federation regions with the high assess of investment climate quality.
