On December 5 the Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin commissioned the modernized production of formaldehyde and urea-formaldehyde concentrate (UFC-85) at the "Siberian methanol chemical company".

A few minutes before the grand launch, the Director General of "Sibmetakhim" Vasily Kurilo demonstrated an updated production to the head of the region and Vitaly Kutepov, the Director General of JSC "Vostokgazprom", the structure of which includes the "Siberian methanol chemical company". Reconstruction of production of formalin and urea-formaldehyde concentrate on "Sibmetakhim" started in 2013. "Sibmetakhim" invested one billion of rubles in the construction of new process units, designed by the St. Petersburg Company "Safe Technologies". Formalin production capacity is 15 thousand tons per year, for UFC-85 it is 65 thousand tons.

Now the "Siberian methanol chemical company" implements one more investment project: RUR 1.2 billion were invested in the modernization of methanol production, the capacity of which now stands at 2.5 thousand tons of methanol per day. In the near future the company plans to reach 2.8 thousand, and in the long term 3000 tons per day.

The Head of "Vostokgazprom" Vitaly Kutepov called the formalin and urea-formaldehyde concentrate production modernization project a shining example of import substitution. "Here they are not only the Russian metal and manpower, but also the Russian engineering. We as customers are proud of the fact that the Russian technology will produce a world class product", - said Vitaly Kutepov.

"In these examples we can see how closely the very different productions are related, how we increase the efficiency of our economy", - said the head of the region Sergey Zhvachkin.
