The All-Russian Atomists Conference Opened in the Tomsk Oblast

On October 11 and 12, the leaders of the Rosatom state corporation and its organizations, the leaders of the Proryv project, nuclear industry workers, government officials, scientific and business experts discussed the prospects for new nuclear power technologies in Tomsk, including in comparison with other types of generation.

"The closure of the fuel cycle of nuclear power on the basis of fast neutron reactors". It was the name of the plenary session. It was held in the Administration of Tomsk Oblast. The Deputy Governor for Industrial Policy, Igor Shaturny, the head of the Proryv project area, special representative of the Rosatom state corporation for international and scientific design projects, Vyacheslav Pershukov, and the Proryv project directional director Evgeny Adamov addressed the atomists with a welcoming speech.

The State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom has been implementing the Proryv project in the Tomsk Oblast since 2012. It is realized within the framework of the federal target program. The amount of investments in the project is about 60 billion rubles. The project involves the construction of an experimental demonstration energy complex with a fast neutron reactor with lead coolant and stationary nuclear fuel cycle on the site of the Siberian Chemical Combine. Over 1,200 new high-tech jobs will be created.
