06.06.2019

Tomsk Region, Gazprom Neft and the state holding Rosgeo signed an agreement on technology partnership at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Tomsk Region Governor Sergey Zhvachkin, Gazprom Neft Chairman of the Board Alexander Dyukov and General Director of Rosgeo Sergey Gorkov signed the document.

With the support of the administration of Tomsk region, Gazprom Neft is implementing a large project in the region to create technologies for the search for hydrocarbon reserves in the pre-Jurassic horizons. Its successful implementation is designed to provide additional annual hydrocarbon production for region up to 1.3 million tons from 2025.

In accordance with the signed agreement, Gazprom Neft and Rosgeo will consider the possibility of expanding the project’s geography by forming additional search clusters in areas with a high potential for discovering new fields. In turn, the administration of the Tomsk region will provide additional support to the project, as well as take part in its promotion at the federal level.

"The main competitive advantage of the Tomsk region is great natural resources and powerful intellectual potential. More and more leading domestic companies are choosing our region for research and development, expanding scientific and technical cooperation with Tomsk citizens," said Tomsk Region Governor Sergey Zhvachkin.

"Working with various classes of hard-to-recover and unconventional hydrocarbon reserves is part of Gazprom Neft’s strategy. We see a great potential for the development of pre-Jurassic horizons in the Tomsk region, but for their geological study, a complex of new technologies is needed. The agreement will allow combining the efforts of the company and the state at the federal and regional levels to develop these technologies, as well as their possible further replication," said Alexander Dyukov, chairman of the board of Gazprom Neft.

"Exploration and effective development of hard-to-recover and unconventional hydrocarbon reserves determine the development potential of the oil-producing complex in a number of regions of the country in many ways," said Sergey Gorkov, General Director of Rosgeo.
