Traffic Launched On New Transport Junction In the Southern Part of Tomsk

The new transport junction connects the southern part of the regional center with a number of villages of the Tomsk district, primarily – with Zonalnoye, a fast-growing mega neighborhood. This is where Yuzhniye Vorota (South gates) is located.

         Construction of a two-level junction began in 2017 by the decision of the governor of the Tomsk Region, Sergei Zhvachkin.  More than 1.8 billion rubles has been invested in the project from the federal budget.

         The main structure is the tunnel under the railroad.  It was built using a unique technology, one which allowed for non-stop train movement during construction.

The Bogashevo highway was also modernized, a highway interchange was built, and many engineering utility lines were constructed.
