Products of “Ilmenite” as a resource base to boost industrial cooperation

The first line of products of the Tugansk Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise with the production capacity of 575 thousand tons of ore sands per year was commissioned at the end of 2022. The launch of the enrichment enterprise paves the way for the development of the industrial cluster in the region, including production of glass, dry mixes, aerated concrete blocks, sand-lime bricks and paving slabs.

Vasiliy Potemkin, Deputy Governor, visited the enterprise and discussed further investment plans with Konstantin Sheptalin, Director General. One of the main objectives is to develop the industrial cooperation of the plant producing ilmenite-zircon and quartz sands with the companies that can use these raw materials as a resource base.

A plan to expand the production to 2.3 million tons of ore sands per year was outlined at the end of the meeting. The parties also ranged the issues to cover with the principal authorities.
