A cluster for microelectronics and drone technologies will appear in the Tomsk Region under the auspices of the Council of Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov held a sectoral meeting in Tomsk on the creation of a Russian industrial cluster of microelectronics and unmanned technologies in the region.
Prior to the meeting, Andrey Yatskin and Anton Alikhanov, together with the head of the region, visited two Tomsk enterprises – R&D centre “BAS” and Cognitive Pilot - and assessed the development of high-tech industries in the region in the field of microelectronics and artificial intelligence.
Governor Vladimir Mazur presented the First Vice-Speaker of the Council of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin and the Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov with the potential of the Tomsk Region to create a microelectronics cluster. He noted that the manufacture of electronic products in the Tomsk region has shown steady growth in recent years. In 2024, the volume of shipped high-tech products exceeded 26 billion rubles, which is 27% more than in 2023. Physical volumes of production are also growing by more than 20% per year.
The investment activity of businesses in the Tomsk Region is also growing. In 2024, Tomsk companies invested RUB 4.27 billion in research and development. This is 38.5% more than in 2023. 1.5 billion rubles were invested in the production of computers and electronic products.
Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov stressed that the active implementation of robotic and unmanned solutions in all spheres of the economy, including key industries, could become a solution to the problem of staff shortage at enterprises.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation outlined that the need to create a microelectronics cluster in the Tomsk Region is due to the specifics of the region's large enterprises.
The Federation Council supports the creation of an industrial cluster of electronics and unmanned technologies in Tomsk. By September 1 it is planned to prepare a roadmap with a plan of measures to launch the cluster.
